Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon confirmed to People magazine that they tied the knot at Carey’s Bahamas spread on April 30. The two had been dating for a few weeks since late March.

Before trading rings, however, the couple traded tats.

“To me rings are special and exciting, but tattoos mean more than anything,” Cannon gushed. “They’re forever and ever. They professed our love.”

Today’s People mag sports pics of the wedding that had only a dozen guests. Carey wore a Nile Cmylo gown that faded from off-white to pale pink. Held at sunset, the reception offered Maine lobster and Dom Perignon champagne.

Cannon said it was love at first sight when Carey cast him as the lover in the video for her new track, “Bye Bye.”

“From the first time we sat down to discuss the video at the Beverly Hills Hotel, we connected,” Cannon said. “We had so much in common spiritually, and we laugh at the same things. I didn’t have to put on my Mac Daddy suave mode. I was able to be myself with her. We are both eternally 12 years old.”

Mario said bye-bye to his Dancing With The Stars audience as he and his partner got the boot last night.

The 21-year-old crooner got dissed when the judges called his feet “bloody ugly” after his performance of a Latin dance.It was the ABC dancing competition’s 100th episode.

Mario’s third album, Go, features the hit “Crying Out For Me.”

According to several published reports, Mariah Carey, 38, and Nick Cannon, 27, got married recently.

Among others, the New York Post, CNN.com and E! Online have reported the pair tied the knot at Carey’s spread in the Bahamas.

E! Online quoted a relative of Cannon’s who said the Drumline star had confirmed the news.

“He called us and told us all about it,” Linda Cannon said. “We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him.”

Last week, Carey flashed a huge diamond ring at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie, “Tennessee,” and was accompanied by Cannon.

Bling headquarters, Jacob & Co., reportedly sold the ring to Cannon, and released a statement describing the ring as “crafted from platinum and features a square emerald cut fancy light pink diamond as the center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side.

“The total carat weight of the ring — center stone is 10 carats — is a jaw-dropping 17 carats with a value of $2.5 million.”

Days after the Queen Of Soul criticized Beyonce for referring to Tina Turner as “The Queen” at the Grammys (and endured a subsequent tongue-lashing from Beyonce’s meddlin’ daddy), Franklin got seriously dissed by the animal rights group PETA.

Peta had serious problems with the music legend showing up at the Grammys in a full lengths fur, and even called her a “walrus in a cat costume” on their blog.

PETA VP Dan Mathews jumped into the Franklin-dissing fray with the following open letter in which he called her a court jester:

Dear Aretha-

Music lovers may think of you as a “queen,” but to animal lovers, you are a court jester. I’m sorry, Aretha, but your furs make you look like a clown. Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice? Won’t you donate your furs to the poor as “queen of compassion,” Mariah Carey, did? You’ll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises.

So far there’s been no comment from The Queen.

Usher’s father, Usher Raymond III, has passed away according to People.com.

The elder Mr. Raymond died at an Atlanta hospital this past Friday from unknown causes.

The superstar’s father was fortunate to see the birth of his grandson, the fifth Usher Raymond, back in November.

The funeral is scheduled to be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home chapel.

Usher has made no comment.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds might have broken a record (for Black Hollywood at least, who can forget Britney Spears being married to Jason Allan Alexander for 48 hours) with a marriage that lasted only two weeks.

Murphy and the ex-wife of singer Babyface exchanged vows on a private island off Bora Bora on Jan. 1.

The couple needed a ceremony on U.S. soil to make the marriage legal, but amidst alleged bickering and arguing decided to call it quits.

“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forgo having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further,” the couple announced on People magazine’s website in a joint statement.

“While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends,” it added.

Whatever. We’re not sure if the break-up is weirder than the relationship itself.

Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean and even writer/producer Tyler Perry have been targeted by a New York state investigation for allegedly ordering steroids.

According to the New York Daily News, Blige and the others are linked to doctors and pharmacists targeted in a statewide steroid investigation.

“Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids,” the singer’s spokeswoman Karynne Tencer told the Daily News.

The startling list of entertainers was named in a probe by Albany County District Attorney David Soares, the Times Union reported.

The Times Union, citing unnamed sources, claims Blige and the other stars sometimes used fake names to receive prescriptions allegedly signed by Dr. Gary Brandwein of Florida.

Brandwein is the doctor who prescribed steroids to Chris Benoit, the pro wrestler who eventually killed his wife, son and himself.

Neither 50 Cent, Timbaland, Jean or Perry could not be reached for comment.

So the latest gossip concerning the ongoing romance between Jay and Beyonce is that they actually were married in December at the Paris home of fashion icon Giorgio Armani.

News Of The World quotes a source who said:

“It was a lovely, intimate ceremony and a very emotional wedding. They wanted to avoid all the usual fuss and attention that normally follows them everywhere and celebrate with the closest people in their lives.”

The ceremony was said to have been attended by only family and close friends and was described as a “dream wedding.”

“It was the wedding they both wanted. After all, they were getting married in the most romantic city in the world,” added the unnamed source.

So far reps for both of the artists have denied this story. Jay-Z recently made headlines when he left his executive post at Def Jam.
