Will.I. am’s now famous “Yes We Can” video that spliced together pieces of Barack Obama’s New Hampshire primary night speech set to music has won an Emmy award.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman’s popular clip won in the new “New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment” category that “recognizes innovative production techniques and the use of media enhancement to support content.”

Airing for the first time on the Internet shortly before Super Tuesday, the video has gotten over 17 million views on YouTube alone and features a gaggle of celebrities including John Legend, Common, Esthero, Nick Cannon, lead singer of rock band Live Ed Kowalczyk, Fonzworth Bentley and basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The video was directed by Jesse Dylan, the son of singer Bob Dylan who later endorsed Obama as the hope of America and also won will.i.am a Webby Award for “Artist of the Year.”

Obama’s campaign often plays the video before he takes the stage at rallies. If you haven’t seen it yet, due to living in a cave, or under a rock, or just want to re-live the sensation, it’s posted below.
