Artists Team Up With mtvU For Darfur

by admin ·

Through April and into May, more than a dozen artists – including Kidz In The Hall, Dizzee Rascal, and former Sudanese child soldier Emmanuel Jal – will offer exclusive “pre-release” albums on mtvU.com, along with exclusive videos.

The news comes as mtvU.com partners with STAND, a Student Anti-Genocide Coalition, to kick off “Turn it Up”: a month of exclusive album leaks and video premieres to bring attention to the Darfur crises.

STAND’s efforts call on George W. Bush to take immediate action to protect the people of Darfur during his last year in office. The organization also encourages students to petition local congresspersons, via the ENOUGH Project, to do more to end the genocide.

“Turn it Up” is the result of a four-year long, student-driven, Emmy-winning Sudan campaign which includes the online viral videogame “Darfur is Dying.”
