Common, Q-Tip, KRS-One Get In The “Mix” With Smirnoff
The Smirnoff Signature Mix Series campaign is underway in its mission to team up classic emcees with hot beatmakers. The series will see Common, Q-Tip, and KRS One hook up with Just Blaze, Cool & Dre, and DJ Premier to remix Common’s “The Light,” A Tribe Called Quest’s “Midnight,” and Boogie Down Productions’ seminal “Criminal Minded,” respectively.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to revisit one of my signature songs and give it a breath of fresh air,” said KRS One.
First up is the legendary BDP frontman and DJ Premier’s covering the former’s classic on “Criminal Minded ‘08 (Smirnoff Signature Mix).”
The next release in the series will be Common and Just Blaze’s “The Light ‘08,” debuting on February 26th, followed March 4th by Q-Tip and Cool & Dre’s “Midnight ‘08.”
