New Video: David Banner – The Official “Speaker”

Here’s the “official final edit” of “Speaker” fresh from his marketing people. Banner’s new album, The Greatest Story Ever Told, will be out Oct. 9.

New Audio: Windimoto – “Don’t Let Me Leave Alone”

News Bits: Amy Winehouse Hospitalized, Beyonce & Timberlake Leads MTV VMA Noms

“Rehab” singer, Amy Winehouse, was hospitalized Wednesday (Aug.8) after collapsing from extreme partying, um… we mean exhaustion.

Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake led the way for artists nominated for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards with seven nominations each. Kanye West and Rihanna received five nominations while Amy Winehouse received three nods. Timbaland, West, Fall Out Boy, Lily Allen, Winehouse, Chris Brown, Foo Fighters and Rihanna are all scheduled to perform at the gala scheduled to take place live (9 p.m. EST) September 9th at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon.

(Donnie Cash) and Polite, will drop their debut set Polluted Water feat. Raekwon and Inspectah Deck. Innocent College Students Gunned Down In Newark Schoolyard

New York Daily News:

Cornered by thugs in a desolate Newark schoolyard, four college students kept their cool and sent each other a flurry of text messages that said, in essence – we’ve got to get out of here.

But before they could escape, three of the victims were marched to a wall, forced to kneel – and shot dead, police said yesterday.

The sole survivor, Natasha Aeriel, was in stable condition and under a 24-hour police watch at a Newark hospital after giving cops a sketchy description of Saturday’s slaughter and the five men responsible for the executions. Aeriel had been shot before the other students were slain.

“We’re getting the story piecemeal from her,” Police Director Garry McCarthy said of Aeriel, 19, a junior at Delaware State University. “Based upon witness testimony, we believe it was a robbery.”

Underground Spotlight: Rock The Bells Review

While I was not lucky enough to catch both shows at Rock The Bells in New York, [the June 29] performance is guaranteed to be remembered as the wettest and nastiest day in Hip-Hop history.

The status of the Rock The Bells festival has raised drastically since its single show in 2004 in Boston. That concert will always be historically remembered by Wu-Tang fans as the last performance of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Four months later, ODB overdosed from pain killers and cocaine in the Clan’s studio. R.I.P. Russell Tyrone Jones.
