If you’re still not quite sure what Zune is, be rest assured the ambiguous anti-phone company is behind hip-hop music as they kick off a series of big city shows featuring some of the biggest names in rap including Common, David Banner, UGK, Mos Def, Bilal, Clipse, Collie Budz, E-40, Cham, Large Professor.
“‘Live at the BBQ’ is helping to bring hip-hop back to a golden age where records were produced and iconic artists rose directly out of their local communities,” said Bun B of UGK. “It’s a chance to put singles, ring tones, and industry hype aside and just get a bunch of our friends together for some great music and BBQ. Let’s eat.”
The 3 free summer performance events will take place in LA (July 12), Chicago (July 22) and August 4 in NYC.
Additional artists confirmations will be released on Zune.net.
