New R&B/soul Album Releases: Beyonce, Deniece Williams, Joe,
Last month was a vast improvement for new R&B releases (February was embarrassing), and now April is off to a good start.
So far, we’ve seen Beyonce revamp and re-release her current album, B’Day, with remixes and Spanish versions of “Irreplaceable,” “Listen,” and a collabo with Latina powerhouse Shakira on “Beautiful Liar.” Brand new material comes from Timbaland who offers his second solo album, while Anthony Hamilton releases Southern Comfort, a collection of tracks recorded before he signed with So So Def.
March saw releases from Musiq Soulchild, Joss Stone, Shirley Murdock, Amy Winehouse, American Idol finalist Elliot Yamin, and Marques Houston. We spoke to Houston about his fourth album, Veteran, which sees the sexy singer define himself as an adult (listen) to his grown-up female fans.
“The more adult fans they come up to you like ‘What you doing tonight?’ Because I’m in a relationship I gotta watch myself.” (Listen)
Upcoming April R&B/soul releases include the sixth studio set from Joe, 80’s star Deniece Williams (check below for audio), the legendary Mavis Staples and of course Ne-Yo.

America gave birth to so much great music,
Gospel, jazz, blues, soul, rock, rap but today popular music is in freefall
and Timbaland is the ultimate symbol of this trend.
Timbaland:Music for marketing.
Timbaland is well liked by the “critics” (pay by the big corporations) because they can say “Now I understand black music! That’s good black music.”
What they like in Timbaland “music” it’s the Techno/Pop/synth/Gay sound played by a black man.
His “music” is souless, cold, mechanical and said nothing. It’s the perfect beat for the fascist Bush years.
Perfect for the white pop artists who got nothing to say but pretend to play “black musicâ€.
Perfect for black artist who want to reach the white teens/gay buyers.
For 10 years it’s the same beat with a new sound stolen somewhere (Arabic, Indus or Finnish music).
Boring after 8 measures, and feed by force via all the clear channel/MTV.
The Financial power decided that “Timbo” was the perfect good big black (and propably gay) boy to represent their computerized/aseptized “music”.
What’s so “fantastic” about him? His goofy face??
He’s changed the sound of music, sure, but for the worst.

Beyonce’s recent album in my opinion was a waste of studio time - Then again it’s said it only took 2 weeks and that was clearly shown in the lack of soulfulness of the album…
Thankfully The original songbird (Deniece Williams)is back and so far what I hear is marvelous her voice is sweet as ever; I think some of these current girls need to talk to Ms Williams to get some good advice, including Mariah…on voice preservation.

Niecy’s voice is still the one of the best around! I love it and her! Thanks for sharing! I have marked my calendar for the release date!
