 The 49th annual Grammy Awards saw eight-time nominee Mary J. Blige walk away with three awards and rise to legend status before our eyes.

Show highlights include:

Chris Brown stomps while wearing a Slipknot-inspired mask, dances with crunked-up preschoolers, bounces backwards off a trampoline, busts Michael Jackson moves and does everything but sing his pop smash “Run It!”
Common to Kanye West: “We were tired of you crying about not winning.”

Gerald Levert Died Of Accidental Drug Combination

Three months after an untimely death, it has been discovered that Gerald Levert accidentally died of a lethal combination of prescription narcotics and over-the-counter medications.

According to the coroner, drugs in the popular singer’s bloodstream included the narcotic pain relievers Vicodin, Percocet and Darvocet, plus anxiety medication Xanax and two over-the-counter antihistamines.

The official cause of death was acute intoxication, and the death was ruled accidental. The autopsy also revealed that Levert had pneumonia.

According to reports, Levert took the pain meds for chronic shoulder pain and pain stemming from a 2005 surgery to repair a severed Achilles tendon. He also took Xanax to cope with anxiety attacks.
As previously reported, Levert’s posthumous album, In My Songs, is due Feb. 13.

Michael Jackson To Team Up With American Idol’s Simon Fuller

U.K. press is buzzing with news of Michael Jackson reportedly turning to American Idol mastermind Simon Fuller to manage the former’s music comeback.

According to the New York Post, Fuller has flown to Las Vegas to meet with Jackson and discuss how the former Spice Girls manager, and man responsible for getting David Beckham signed to L.A.’s Galaxy can help resuscitate the King Of Pop’s career.

“This is the perfect match,” Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous host Robin Leach told Splash News, “the world’s biggest pop star being looked after by the most successful mogul manager in the world.”
