C Murder Plans “Vengeance,” Talks About Prison Sentence

Posted by admin - Filed under: Hiphop, hiphop articles, new Hip-hop releases - (Wednesday February 7, 2007 at 4:07 pm)

In the wake of an overturned conviction which would have seen him spend life in prison, C Murder is prepping Screamin’ 4 Vengeance for a March 20 release date.

Featuring lead single “Posted On Tha Block,” the set sees the newly freed rapper address his incarceration for a 2002 murder he says he did not commit.

“A lot of people want to know what’s going on with me and what my personal feelings are as far as what I’ve been through the last five years,” C-Murder said. “I expressed it on ‘Posted On Tha Block. The public’s getting a basic picture of what I’ve been through, how I feel and what’s going on in my mind from that song.”

“Posted On Tha Block” is accompanied by an innovative clip shot in New Orleans. Using the Dream Sequence program, the video has a unique storybook-like feel but C-Murder, under court gag order could not appear in the video. Making a cameo in the video is longtime C-Murder friend and collaborator, Snoop Dogg.

Guests on the album include Chamillionaire, LeToya, Slim Thug and Pimp C.

Screamin’ 4 Vengeance also marks the rebirth of the independent Priority Records, once home to the likes of N.W.A, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Master P and more.

IN RESPONSE TO PAUL W. ARNOLD OF XXL MAGAZINES ARTICLE ON C-MURDERS LATEST ALBUM:

It’s quite amusing how these industry fueled magazines headed by people who have nothing to do with the true essence of the music in which they critique (i.e Arnold on C-Murder). The mainstream industry in which XXL et al reports on is no more than a prostitution ring, with rappers like Curtis Jackson being fashioned, oiled and molded by professional marketing companies (many are homosexuals) who dictate the image that listeners/fans perceive. Let’s not forget the real HCIC producers behind the scenes who buy the souls and mouths of these rap-trade workers, telling them what to put in their songs, serving the REAL agenda of those people who actually run the show.

Ex.”Jesus didn’t save me, 50 did” (Prodigy of MOBB DEEP)

Arnold is a small cog in the industrial rap machine that locomotes ever more into mainstream western media.

Words like “street cred” used to qualify individuals is an interesting device that THEY are all using now which permeates in the heads of every ignorant fool who feels they need to do something bad to be accepted by society. Yes, SOCIETY is the target because they have moved HIP/HOP to the mainstream of pop-culture to corrupt society.

Where Rap previously was merely a movement contained within the communities and mentalities of a small minority, it has now been usurped by corporate and hollywood types who have re-packaged it and supplanted into the ears and of every child and individual for a high price - morality.

Therefore, most of the artists propagated in the media, movies and now video games are effectively “bubble-gum pop” stars. “Pop”, as in popular culture correctly defines who artists such as Jay-Z and Curtis Jackson really are. Unknowingly prostituted by their producers, editors etc. they are led around and manipulated easily through simple handling techniques using their ego’s like a carrot hung over the eyes of an ass.

So the industry Arnold reports from is NOT of the element from which REAL -expletive- like C-MURDER represent. I really don’t think C gives a damn if Arnold can engineer “faults” for his predetermined negative review - like finding so-called ironies (to comment on) that’s several layers deep for the pedantic critic looking for dirt.
Perhaps C doesn’t want to conform to Arnold and his industries cookie-cutter music styles and subject matter. Maybe Arnold is angry because C hasn’t sold his soul over to them (like Mobb Deep did).
Arnold should just stay the -expletive- away from real -expletive- like C-MURDER B.G. and MAGNOLIA SLIM, because the music people like them make appeal to real gangsters and people involved in things they can relate to in the music. C has always explicitly stated who he makes his music for:

“-expletive- mainstream fool, I keep it real”

And how he feels about Arnold’s industry:

“I spit that gangster shit, forget that hip-hop”.

I hate what Arnold and his hidden hollywood empire has done to society, where now you have every bloody youth dressing up and trying to act like their heroes they listen to, see on MTV and now play out in glorifying video games. Because of people like Arnold and his industry… real -expletive- have to deal with these young people who feel they need to do somehthing (that 50 would) to get “street cred”, and fit in with the rest of his peers.

The fact that C stayed true to himself and his origins when everyone around him was indulging in the fruits of fame and money, makes every word he spits like gold. You can be the most skilled, amazing rapper and be popular with fans of HIP/HOP. But if you hear that rapper talking about things that aren’t real - there’s no substance to music.

C speaks from the heart and is really “bout” what he raps. That’s what makes his music so good for those who can HEAR him.

“only the real can feel this”.

    Unlike you Arnold, thanks

I know what you really are

NOTE: UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ALL QUOTATIONS IN THE ESSAY ARE FROM C-MURDER
