10th Annual Mixtape Awards Turns Into A Hot Mess

What should have been a night of honor turned into a night of anger, fear and general pissed-off-ness when the Justo Awards went wrong.

As previously reported, the 10th Annual Mixtape Awards, held yesterday (Thursday) Luv Bug Starskiat Harlem’s World Famous Apollo Theater, were meant to honor the industry’s hottest mixtape DJs and underground artists as well as its charismatic founder Justo Faison who tragically died in a 2005 car accident.

However, as Allhiphop reports, the crowd wouldn’t even shut up long enough for a moment of silence for Justo as requested by actor/director Bill Duke.

“I loved him like a brother and I came here to give respect to him,” Duke implored. “He deserves one moment.”

When people loudly protested as DJ Clinton Sparks accepted his award for Best Club DJ, hip-hop founding father Luv Bug Starski (pictured) stepped in and put the children in place.

“If you don’t win,” he admonished in rhyme, “suck it up and take it on the chin.”

Bow Wow Denies Dissing Ciara, Jay-Z, Others In Fake Magazine Interview

In response to a fake magazine interview (posted here), Bow Wow has released a statement denying the alleged conversation where he disses Ciara, Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri and the whole rap industry.

In the phony interview, said to have been printed in Ozone magazine, Bow says Ciara has a bladder problem and needs adult diapers. He also calls Jay-Z’s album, Kingdom Come, “warmed over garbage.”

“When you gain success and are doing something positive, there’s always someone out there that wants to see you fail,” Bow Wow retorted in real life. “I wonder what they’ll come up with next? My fans know that I would never say anything like what’s in that interview.”

Bow’s publicist went on to say “the alleged interview is a fantasy created by persons unknown.”

“Neither Bow Wow nor Ozone magazine had anything to do with generating the fake interview. One can only assume the alleged interview is either a misguided attempt at humor or a horrible prank.”

Bow Wow’s upcoming album The Price of Fame is due to drop December 19 and features the track “Shortie Like Mine” feat. Chris Brown.

Andre 3000 Plans To Go “Semi-Pro” In New Film

Outkast’s Andre 3000 is set to co-star with funny man Will Ferrell in the basketball comedy “Semi-Pro.”

Directed by Kent Alterman and written by Scot Armstrong, the story takes place in the world of the American Basketball Association. 3000 plays the top player of the fictional Flint Michigan Tropics. Ferrell, plays the owner-coach-player.

3000, real name Andre Benjamin, is involved in numerous other projects including shooting Stuart Townsend’s “Battle in Seattle,” acting as co-creator of Cartoon Network’s “Class of 3000″ and working as one of the voices in the upcoming family movie “Charlotte’s Web.”

OutKast received two Grammy nods Thursday for their last album Idlewild.
