Usher On Gerald Levert: “I actually cried tears of joy.”
As we previously reported, today at 12 noon, Cleveland time, the public tribute for the late Gerald Levert began. However, in an amazing display of love for the singer, fans started lining up as early as 5 a.m.
The crowd wrapped up and down the street, waiting patiently to collectively remember the vocal powerhouse folks called “G-Bear.”
Thousands of folks waited outside in the cold precipitation, hailing from all over the country, many clutching teddy bears. Those outside included R&B superstar Usher (video), who later said, “When I came here, I expected to mourn [but] I cried. I actually cried tears of joy.”

Knowing that Mr. Levert recently made known to his mother, Martha, that he wanted to draw closer to God brings me great comfort that he will be remembered in the resurrection promised at John 5:28,29. Mr. Levert’s mother is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses as am I. We mourn, but look forward to meeting him back when all of the sorrows of this world will be past. Rev. 21:3,4

I loved Gerald and his true R&B style of music, that will live forever. From a fan age 54.
