Young Jeezy Drops New Album, Shares “The Street Dream”

by admin ·

Young Jeezy is getting ready to tear up the scene with his sophomore release The Inspiration, as well as a new mixtape I Am The Street Dream.

Following-up his 2005 platinum No. 1 set, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (named by the The New York Times as the Pop Album Of The Year), the Georgia native isn’t trying to entertain any notions of sophomore slump. The rapper once named to Rolling Stone’s “New Faces: Artists To Watch” is dropping a second major label release chock full of guest appearances by the likes of Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, Three 6 Mafia, Timbaland, T.I. and G-Unit’s Young Buck, among others.

But even though he’s been embraced by the mainstream the artist formerly called “Snowman” has his feet firmly planted in the hood. I Am The Street Dream is the latest installment of the Gangsta Grillz mixtape series and sees him team up with DJ Drama to continue the heat blazing in the streets.

“I love this mixtape because it reminds of what Trap or Die was,” Drama said of the mostly original song set.

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, has also been burning up stages. He’ll be seen on BET’s inaugural Hip-Hop Awards, airing on November 15 and featuring the Boyz N Da Hood member performing three songs including …Inspiration‘s lead single “I Luv It,” the video of which is set to premiere on a BET “Access Granted” special the same day.

And if that weren’t enough, Jeezy’s also acting in “Child Of God (Bury Me A G),” a mini-movie that accompanies the track of the same name where the artist talks about his own death and judgment. The long-form video will be included as bonus content on the limited edition of The Inspiration, due to drop December 12th.
