Baby Bash Goes To J Records, Molesting Mentor Goes To Jail
by admin ·
“Suga Suga” rapper Baby Bash recently inked a deal with Clive Davis’ J Records.
The move comes in the wake of his leaving Universal Records, and puts the Texas resident in the capable company of labelmates Alicia Keys, Fantasia and Whitney Houston.
“I feel ultra blessed to be with Clive Davis and the Arista Records familia,” said Baby Bash. “I look forward to Arista elevating me to a higher level. This business is crazy and it feels good to have people on my team who see and understand my vision.”
After relocating to Texas from Vallejo, CA, the former drug dealer made a name for himself as a member of rap group Latino Velvet, and later as a songwriter for artists such as Frankie J.
However, it was his collaboration with Houston’s SPM (aka the South Park Mexican) that made him a local sensation.
Now SPM, real name Carlos Coy, is sitting in a state penitentiary after being found guilty back in 2002 of molestation of a 9 year old and sentenced to 45 years.
According to Houston’s KTRK, the former Bash colleague recently dropped his latest CD from prison. Many are appalled that a convicted child molestor can make money from album sales.
“From a victim’s perspective, it is absolutely nauseating and disgusting,” crime victim advocate Andy Kahan said.
