This Week’s Charts, Bob Dylan, Danity Kane And Ron Isley

Posted by admin - Filed under: R&B/Soul, R&B/Soul articles, R&B/Soul audio/video - (Thursday September 7, 2006 at 6:37 pm)

This week’s charts sees Danity Kane get kicked out of the Billboard 200 No. 1 spot by… Bob Dylan. The music legend gets props for topping the Billboard 200 with his latest, and highest debuting, Modern Times.

Meanwhile, despite a 50% drop in sales, the ladies of Danity Kane have a lot to look forward to. The quintet’s D. Woods recently told us the group is looking forward to rocking the stage. Check below for the audio interview. No dates yet, but in the meantime you can catch their mentor, Diddy, promoting his upcoming album via its lead single “Come to Me.” The father of twins-to-be willl drop his new set in October.

And another music legend, Ron Isley of the iconic Isley Brothers, has been sentenced to 3 years in jail for tax evasion. This is a sad week for R&B, rock and Mr. Big fans everywhere as Mr. Isley’s 65 years old and suffering from complications from a stroke and kidney cancer.

Dylan is the greatest lyricist of the past 2 centuries. Still, he wouldn’t stand a chance on Star Search or American Idol. Such is the state of modern times. P.S. Free Ron Isley, leave the brother alone, let him pay-off the fine like everybody else. WTF
