MTV VMA Highlights: Gnarls Barkley, Lil Kim And Mos Def
Big winners from last night’s MTV Video Music Awards were Gnarls Barkley who, along with James Blunt, were the only multiple awards winners. Also, Chamillionaire’s “Ridin” won for Best Rap Video, Beyoncé’s “Check on It” scord Best R&B Video, Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” copped Best Hip-Hop Video, and the Pussycat Dolls snagged Best Dance Video.
While this site usually doesn’t report on what rappers get arrested every week, this one couldn’t be ignored. Mos Def was arrested for performing outside the VMAs without a permit. Check the video report.
As Chamillionaire accepted his award, he said “this award just made my year,” among other touching things about his dead homie. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg who’d previously admitted to a smoking jones, chugged beer in the background.
A post-prison Lil’ Kim showed up wearing an orange jumpsuit and surrounded by mock prison guards. “You can’t keep a good bitch down,” she declared. Check the pics.
Why, oh why was former Vice President Al Gore talking about global warming on an awards show? Why?
Kanye West, complains about not winning again, and should get the award for “Whiny B*tch” of the new millennium.
Some folks thought the show was whack. We thought it was boring.
