New Releases: Sam Moore, Tamar Davis, Method Man And The Roots

by admin ·

Sam MooreSoul legend Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave) dropped an amazing release today called Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational. Not only does the “soul man” join with some of today’s biggest stars (Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen, Fantasia, Van Hunt and many more) for hot covers of classic soul tracks, the set also serves as the final recording for the late, “fifth Beatle” Billy Preston.

Also new is Milk & Honey, the debut from Prince protege Tamar Davis who not only used to be a member of teen group Girls Tyme before it became Destiny’s Child, but is also (strangely) rumored to be the reason of the split between Prince and ex-wife Manuela.

Don’t forget Method Man‘s dropping his latest solo, Method Man, 4:21…the Day After, and appearing at Union Square’s Virgin Megastore later this evening. There’s a lot of hopeful hype surrounding this set in light of his flagging career and feud with Wendy Williams, among other things.

And of course The Roots release their long-awaited 9th album, Game Theory. Get more info at their label’s site and their real site.
