Cassie Nixed Soft Porn Video For Hit Song “Me&U”

by admin ·

CassieWhen listening to the self-titled debut album from Cassie, our reviewer, Shonuf, was struck by the lack of talent displayed by the latest “singer” P. Diddy is trying hard to market to teens as the latest thing.

Yep, she’s real pretty, but the 19 year-old looks downright embarrassing in the original video to her current single “Me&U,” a song about, what else, giving a blow job.

The clip, shot pre-Diddy, features a scantily clad Cassie taking a total stranger home for sex. Nice stuff for the kiddies.

Obviously, sassy Cassie had to ditch the porn as part of her arrangement with Bad Boy who released this official clip.

Thanks to EUR.web for hipping us to this.

Justin Timberlake Reveals New Album Cover, Preps Mini Tour

by MWord ·

Justin TimberlakeHmmm… is this image what you were expecting when you thought of the title for Justin Timberlake’s upcoming CD, FutureSex/LoveSounds??

Perhaps this is what he meant when he said he did too many drugs… he’s gone OffThe/DeepEnd.

Regardless of the whack cover, “Sexyback” is still slammin’, but dude might think about coming a little more correct with cover art.

For all of you who can’t get enough of Timberlake, Bosh reports he’ll be stomping through the doors of a few US clubs this month on what is being called the “SexyBack ClubTour.” First show’s August 10 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA, and will wrap August 26 in Boston.

MC Lyte, Queen Latifah And Dove Soap Ads Keep It Real

by Ife Oshun ·

Queen LatifahHip-hop legend, MC Lyte, has signed on as part of the Hip-Hop Leadership Camp being held at UCLA August 10-13, 2006.

The camp encourages “at risk youth” to “look beyond dreams of being artists, by empowering them with the tools to become business people.”

A good idea given the dirth of “artists” in the business solely to make money.

Other participants will include Sway (from the Sway & Tech Wake Up Show), DJ Skee, Chino XL and Sticky Fingaz.

Also, fellow female hip-hop vet, Queen Latifah, is launching the 2006 Curvation Project Confidence. And while at first I thought it was something about being curvy and proud of it, it’s nothing like those reality ads from Dove soap.

“Awards is a nationwide search to recognize women who personify and project the power of confidence through contributions to their local communities – via education, fund-raising, self-empowerment and volunteer work – to help other women to gain confidence and self esteem.”

Heavy stuff.

Mya Announces “Liberation” With New Track

by admin ·

MyaIt’s been a looooong time since we’ve heard new music from soulful (and in our opinion sorely underated) pop/R&B chanteuse Mya, whose last set, Moodring, graced us in 2003.

Back in July, the D.C. native told Vibe.com that she’s grown a lot since then.

“With the last album I thought I was a little passive and there were insecurities that I did have with my personal life, family, boyfriends and professional life. I was a prisoner to myself back then.”

Now she’s back; feeling stronger and expressing that new view on her upcoming release Liberation. The set won’t be available until November 14, so until then, peep the first track, “Ayo,” and tell the world what you think.
